anyone ever have to take the covers off and cant get spring to work?I am looking for specs but cant find anywhere.It is on the right side shouldnt be so hard to put back but has me stumped

I was just looking at the instruction sheet on how to replace the spring other then that I'm not sure what you need. I down loaded this sheet from SRAM don't know if you have it or not. Hope you find the problem.

What year? I have fully dismantled the X-7s before and made them work like new. They might be similar.

For future reference take pictures if you plan on working on them.

Also, by spring, do you mean that when you shift to a easier gear there is no resistance and the lever doesn't bounce back?
