    TACX Tools anyone?

Does anyone have any experience (perhaps) with this brand of tools? Opinions (probably)!

    Cheers...Gary

Sorry, I haven't even heard of them. I usually just buy Park since that's what the LBS's I deal with carry. Occasionally I will get a Nashbar or Performance brand for things I won't use very often. But only Park for things like freewheel and cassette lockring removers. All of it has worked well for me.
If it ain't broke, mess with it anyway!

I don't know the tools, but I have a TacX trainer that I'm happy with. I believe they're a well respected brand from Sweden or somewhere around there.

Very good tool as many. Used properly they will work. Not too popular in the USA due to the lack of knowledge from many shops but still offered by top shops that care to give consumers a choice.

They are widely used by many teams int he cycling world.

They're made in the Netherlands and distributed here by a wholesaler named 0CHSNER in Wheeling, llinois. Your LBS can contact them to get a catalog.

Well, I went to heaven today. That is, "BikeMotion 2001", a big bicycle show in Utrecht. I want one of each please.

Oh, sorry. I hit the tool jackpot as well as some others. I now have tool catalogs for VAR, TACX, Pedro, and a few others as well. And addresses for distributors and retail outlets here in NL (as well as the rest of Europe). Now I just have to make up lists and request prices.

As for one of each ... oh my, there were a lot of nice bikes there! All the big names, as well as ten or so custom builders from here. Many of the frame manufacturers, catalog sales places, and component manufacturers had booths too. Got the 2002 Campy catalog and paper copy of the 2001 spares manual.

All in all, the literature I picked up weighs more than the new bikes will.

With a big smile on my face,

    Cheers...Gary

I wish the BikeMotion 2001 website had an English version, still there is a wealth of URL's listed for many of the vendors, some of which I had never heard of. Interesting stuff was there it appears. I'm not surprised Gary was probably like a sweet-toothed junky in a candy store!

    yes tacx tools.

widely available here in england, i've used the myself for my own personal use and when i was a mechanic at ribble cycles. most tools are much of a muchness, campag tools are good as are park tools. tacx tools are made by the people behind tacx trainers, as you might have guessed! a dutch company, website is www.tacx.nl for anyone who is interested.

I accepted the thought earlier by someone that they might be made in Scandinavia somewhere, so was surprised when I found out at the show that they are from here.

In checking the tools out, they seem very to be very substantial. And given that they are well under half the price of Park here, and available through local shops, I will probably go with them.

The VAR tools also looked pretty good, but perhaps a bit more expensive. So local it is.

    Cheers...Gary
