Brake Shoe Recommendation Please

I'm fixing up a Raleigh 'Eclipse' hybrid bike that looks like it's from the early 1990's and noticed that the original Shimano cantilever brake shoes were pretty hard and I'm inclined to replace them.

Taking into account that this isn't exactly a high-peformance racing machine. does anybody have any recommendations for compatible brake shoes? I actually looked in Wal-mart and the Bell product they sell didn't look like it would fit, clearance-wise. See photo of the original.

Kool Stop Eagle 2

Scroll down to the Kool Stop Eagle 2 Smooth Stud's. Great pads. Any bike shop can order them.
