Cosmetic Repair for Record Levers

OK, a few weeks ago I was on a group ride that included an off-pavement section. At one steep downhill pitch, my wheel sunk into some gravel before I could steer onto the packed dirt along the edge of the track and I went down. I ended up scraping my right leg and my left arm just below the elbow. The bike was, for the most part, ok except that a small amount of the finish on my carbon fiber levers chipped off. Other than that everyone/thing was fine and I was able to finish the ride with the group.

So here's the question: Is clear polyurethane or clear nail polish safe to use on CF to restore the finish?

Thanks --- SteveE

Probably, lots of carbon bikes(Trek oclv, Specialized Epics, that would be the road bike from the 90's, Giant CFR, Zipps, Lotus) are painted. You might want to stick with enamels, lots of choices at the hobby shop.

Ask Tim at Branford Bike (info@branfordbike.com). He knows about everything Campy. Probably has the correct enamel, etc., to do the repair, as well.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I just didn't want to use anything that might damage the CF.
