Integrated headset question
Pardon me if this is a dumb question, but I'm obsessing about a possible new road frame. Does an integrated headset lower the front end of a bike because it doesn't have the bottom cup of a conventional headset? Maybe by 1cm?
My current bike has a conventional headset and I'm trying to get the same position as both frames have the same head tube and fork length/rake. Thanks.
It would depend on the manufacturer. There are going to be differences between one frame to another, regardless of the headset.
You should be able to make up the difference in spacers or rise in the stem.

The head tube of an integrated headset will generally be longer than one with non-integrated. The extra length takes the place of the cup. In short, no, it doesn't generally affect the relative position of the fork, angles, etc. It's all built into the design. Edit: I don't have any personal experience with this so someone correct me if I'm wrong (as if I had to ask).
