Shimano IG Chain?
Hi all,
Before I go any further, I did try searching the forums. However, it always come to a blank page!
Anyways, I have an older 7-speed Trek bike that I acquired with a bad chain. I looked at the crank gear and it says "Shimano IG Only". After searching online, I've run into some issues with finding a chain for a 7 speed. They all seem to be for 8 speeds and up. Can anyone help me with finding the chain that I need? How do I go about finding one that's the correct size?
I'm sorry if my noobishness annoys you, but I'm just looking for some help!
Thanks in advance!

8-speed chain will work fine. The warning was to keep you from using the older, wider chain that used to come on 10-speed bikes (2 X 5).

I had been looking into SRAM chains.. They seem to be much better than Shimano chains.. How do I know which one is the one I need?

PC-48, PC-58, PC-68. The "8" means it's a 6,7 or 8 speed chain. I suppost there are some internal differences but the PC-68 is a much classier silver color and costs twice as much as the gray and black PC-48.
