carbon fork

I have a specialize Sirrus with a carbon specialize fork. It is 4 years old and some of my fellow cyclist are telling me to replace it, They say they are good for years and could fail . Now I have inspected it thoroughly and found no obvious problems. What do you think???

If that was true, wouldn't there be a disclaimer in addition to any warranty limit on the frame and fork?

*waiting for someone to come in and prove me wrong with such a factory manual claim*

I'd suggest that you replace your whole bike by sending it to me and buying a new one. It could, after all, fail.

I still see first generation carbon Kestrel 4000s on their original frame and fork riding around and those came out in 1987.

carbon has 3 to 5 times the strength to weight and rigidity to weight ratios of any metal used for frames, plus magnitudes superior resonance damping abilities.

Your fellow cyclists are jealous of you getting too much retro cred. Don't give in. As long as your fork hasn't been crashed or scratched deeply anywhere, it's fine.
