Velocity Deep Vs

These rims seem pretty pricey to me for not being eyeleted. Are Deep Vs all they are cracked up to be or am I just paying for hipster points

Thanks pals.

They're good. I have them on my commuter/CX and fixed gear bikes and plan on getting 2 more sets later this year (for a light touring bike and a singlespeed CX bike).

Not the lightest, but they are strong.

I was 230lbs when I got my Zipp/Deep-V wheelset, 220 lbs now. I have not had to true them even once.

20h front, 28h rear. I love em.

They're great. I've built a couple sets. Another one to consider is the 30mm Kinlin rim. Maybe not quite as durable, but 100g less weight.

You won't find any deep V rims with eylets.

They are very strong rims - they of course weigh a lot.

They have a good reputation, but quite frankly, I scrapped a pair of those on my tandem in less than 4000 km. I have much better luck with Mavics A-719

Did not see any trolling here. I am 295 and have a set of these for my Cannondale. While not the lightest rim on the market, they can take a beating and roll great once you get them going. Love mine and will be getting a set for my Trek 7300 as well.

At $25 they're stolen and at 520g...that's one monster of a crap.

Thanks gang. Seems like the reputation is deserved. Although where I live they cost more like $80-$90 (canadian).

That's what they cost here. Nad is talking about stolen rims.

Look on eBay, you can get new Deep Vs for just under 30 dollars all included with shipping. Cheaper than the "ebay special" type deals they have on bike related items.

And PS. A stolen rim would sell for a buck, not 25 or 30.

some of you are writing about rims and some are writing about complete wheels!

QBP prices on Velocity Deep V rims are under $50 retail.

Buyer Beware, Deep V is the name of a rim made by Velocity. However, online retailers take "Deep V" to mean any old generic rim that has a deep profile.

Many "Deep Vs" on eBay and online sites are actually Weinemann DP-18 rims, which are not as well made. Unless the site specifically says "Velocity Deep Vs" I'd be careful.

Yes. This thread is called Velocity Deep V. No one said full wheel, which is 300 +/- . this is rim only. Not 400 bucks, or 200 or even 90. Deep V = 30 bucks.

Like MadMaxx said, under $50 dollars. The highest price I've seen was around 40 from some major rip on the internet.

And how could you ever mix Weinnman with Deep V? I've seen the knockoff Vs and they were not made by Weinnman....LOL. And even the knockoff company (NOT Weinnman) were actually pretty good wheels and same price.

I paid about $45 for the black 32h machined sidewall ones. If you want color, prepare to pay $65 or more.

And if you were aware, this is 2008 and there is a thing called Google.com

I just did a quick search and seen 9 different color Vs, all 36H, ranging from 30-50. So obviously there are cheap ones out there. And for all you lazy people, it's a click away.

And for Operator...haha..what a ****. Maybe you should learn English before you talk.

Hope this is not a hijack, but why aren't deep profile rims eyeletted? I have noticed that and wondered.
