    Synergy or Dyad for a Clydesdale?

    Hi,
    total weight around 300 when touring. The Velocity website says the Synergy is heavier by a tiny amount. But I was wondering if anyone had a preference for one or the other in a demanding application (commuting and touring).

    I built a set of 40 spoke Dyads for my tandem and I"ve been quite happy with them. The building process went better than any other wheels that I've ever built.

    Peter White has a description of these rims <http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/velocity.asp> Is he close enough to Southern Maine to consider as your wheel builder?

    I started at 325 lbs. on 48 spoke Dyads on my Gunnar and I also have 36 spoke Dyads on my Atlantis.

    My bike shop does a good job of building wheels. Looks like Peter White doesn't use the Synergy rim. I like the idea of offset on that rear rim.

    I was looking for a durable wheel so switched to Dyads, 36 front and 32 rear (Rohloff hub) this fall/winter commute season. So far they have been great. The LBS offered free truing for three years, so I haven't had to take them up on it. Counting the bike and commuting gear I'm close to 300 (or maybe a little north of it).
