FSA / Campy Hiddenset compatibility
Hi,
I have an FSA Orbit CE headset, which has Campagnolo compatible bearing units (by a bearing unit, I mean the set of ball bearings and the enclosing cups/races).
I'm not exactly sure what the Campy compatibility means. Does it only mean compatibility with the head tube of the frame or should the other headset parts also be compatible? For example, can I replace the FSA Orbit CE with a Chorus Hiddenset but still leave the FSA crown race on my fork? Would the FSA crown race be compatible with the Hiddenset bearing unit?

It did appear the headset cap between the two was not interchangeable.

I make myself more clear with a picture.
The picture is a schematic of FSA Orbit CE, which is similar to Campy Hiddenset. On my fork I have the part 6, which is lowest in the diagram. I was wondering if the Campy Hiddenset equivalent of part 5 (the bearings) would fit together with the FSA crown race (part 6).
I did some searches and there seems to be so many different integrated headset parts even within the FSA product line that full compatibility with integrated Campy headsets is probably just a dream.

both should have a 45 degree seat angle, can't say if they are compatible, there could be a fit issue with the FSA crown race if it is larger than the Campy unit.
Simple answer, put the Campy race on.
