Check the pump head to make sure it is set for a Presta valve... Topeak probably has a website or something that has a user's guide too.

Make sure you unscrew the presta valve first. Put the pump on the valve then pull up the locking lever.

Thanks for the quick replys guys, I looked at their site and they don't have any manuals on there that I could find. I unscrewed the little one that locks so far down I will go look to seeif there is another part that unscrews.

I have that pump (Actually it's the Dx version, which I think is just a little smaller). The head works for both Schraeder and Presta without modification.

On a Presta valve there are two nuts. On by the rim that just gets cinched down lightly to the rim (this nut is inconsequential for pumping). Then the little one on the tip. That one must be uncscrewed all the way (and some times depressed once to unstick it) before you put the pump on.

The pump has a lever near the head. You put the pump on the valve with the lever parallel to the pump, then flip it out (perpendicular) before pumping. Flip it back when you're done and pop the pump had off the valve.

Don't forget to screw down the end nut when you're done.

Edit: don't forget to remove the black cap on the end of the valve to get to the end nut!

I've got the Topeak Mini and to switch, you have to reverse the rubber "bushing" inside the head.
