seatpost clamp stuck

I need to adjust my saddle on a new bicycle and the seatpost clamp hex nut is absolutely jacked on there. Are there any tricks to loosening the nut besides just taking it to a LBS? thanks.

hope you're not trying to turn the wrong side. sometimes one side is fixed, the other side (usually right side) can turn. otherwise, make sure you use a really high quality long handled allen wrench that fits right.
