Braze-on troubles

Hi all, New poster here. Just bought a used '07 trek 1500 slr. Went to put on a water bottle cage today and one of the braze on bolts just spun freely..Not like the hole was stripped, but like the hanger(?) was spinning too. It looks like a little round threaded nut set into the frame that is just spinning. I was able to hold the edge with a pair of needle nose pliers and get the bolt out, but its pretty much useless to me now. Is there a good way to fix this? Try to get a little lock-tight in there? jb weld? rip the thing out and epoxy it back in?
Hope this makes sense.

What is in the frame is a Riv-nut. These are threaded fittings that are inserted like a pop-rivet and compressed to stay put. If they aren't set firmly enough, they will spin like yours has. Any LBS should have a Riv-nut setter and can tighten your so it holds properly.

A DIY approach is to get a long bolt of the right threading (M5x.8 in this case) and thread a nut onto it. Then screw the bolt into the loose Riv-nut far enough to be all the way through the internal threads. Hold the bolt head stationary and run the nut down against the Riv-nut and tighten it firmly. That should compress and reset the Riv-nut.
