1st aftermarket front wheel purchase - did I buy wrong one?
As a newbie to working on bikes, I decided to learn by doing by upgrading my department-store mountain bike to disc brakes, starting with the front wheel. Examining the bike, I saw that it had mounting holes on the fork for the disc brake caliper, and had 100mm front hub spacing. The stock front wheel, however, did not have a mount for a disk brake rotor.
I got a good deal on a disc brake kit and ordered a Mavic Crossland front wheel. Based on my research, I was expecting the wheel to have a CenterLock disc rotor mount. However, upon receiving the wheel, I don't see any rotor mount (see pictures). There is what might be a black plastic dust cover covering a rotor mount, but before prying things apart, I thought I'd humbly ask for help. Is that plastic disk a dust cover over a CenterLock rotor mount, or did I buy a wheel without a rotor mount?

It has been discussed somewhere and that indeed is a dust cover. You pop it off and it exposes the threads. Its there to protect the threads in case you don't use the wheel with disc brakes.

That front wheel is only $80 at Performance so it isn't that expensive of a wheel. Maybe he is happy with his current bike, plus he can move these wheels to his next bike if he so chooses.
OP, pull off that larger black dust cover. There should be centerlock threads under there. Good luck.

TT - the wheel listing title was "MAVIC CROSSLAND RIM/DISC CL FRNT SIL NLM" and the description includes the sentence "It is compatible with rim brakes and disc brakes." I assumed the "CL" part of the listing meant "CenterLock", as other listings for the Crossland indicate that it comes in either CenterLock or 6-bolt versions. I was hoping that someone here might be able to tell me if that black plastic thing in my second photo is really just a dust shield hiding the CenterLock spline ring...

And while I was typing, voila! Thanks very much R and G!
PS - I've learned from working on cars that I can and do make mistakes; I'd rather make the bulk of my rookie mistakes on a cheaper bike.
