Any recommedations? Ideally one that I can use for summer and winter riding and that's easy to apply ?

There are plenty of threads on this already if you search

I did a quick search and in the last year there has been 741 threads

I use White Lightning. I don't know if it's the best, but i've been using it for a decade and it doesn't stain and smear, unlike oil-type lubes. You do have to remember to apply it the night before a ride though, or you'll be squeaking along like an idiot.
