Crank tool

I have a 70's something Fuji I just got and am in the process of converting it over to a commuter. I need a tool to remove the crank and have no idea where to start. I think the BB is a square taper, from what I can tell, and am thinking I need something like this, Crank tool.

Is this all I need for crank removal? If so what would I need for removing the BB if I need to do that?
It has 4 notches in it. My LBS is over 30 minutes away in another town so it isn't really 'local'.

Any help would be appreciated and Thanks! in advance.

that works but I have one problem.. the plastic caps that are on there. should I just break them off or is there actually a certain way they should come off. I can't seem to get them loose.

edit: I found it. Just had to cut a piece of metal wide enough to fit in the cup so I could turn it.
