Building new wheels :)

Hello everyone
hope this is the right place for my question

I have a mountain bike
ideal pro rider https://www.idealbikes.net/bike.php?bike=124
and because i'm using it a lot in the streets i want to make a pair of road wheels.
I searched a lot, read a lot but in the end i got more confused

I would be very glad if you could suggest me some rims , spokes ,hub and tyres for road.
my budget is max 200€ (300$)
keep in mind that greek streets are very bad and with many holes so would like something more durable and strong (for road)

thank you

The wheels that come on the bike will work fine if you like. Just mound a pair of tires that will be smoother for the road. If you want two sets - one for trails and one for road - buy a set that includes Sun Rhino Lite rims. They are pretty durable and should work well for you if they are available where you are.

Bikes: Iron Monkey: a junkyard steel 26" slick-tired city bike. Grey Fox: A Trek 7x00 frame, painted, with everything built, from spokes up. Jet Jaguar: A 92 Cannondale R900 frame, powder coated matte black with red and aluminum highlights.

I really like my Bontrager Road Warrior tires. Totally slick (which, ironically, makes them grip really well), and they come down to 1-1/4" size. As far as I understand, you can use any 650c tire on a 26" rim. I think they're the same size (can someone confirm this for me?). If that's true, I'd also recommend Bontrager Race-Lites. They're flat-resistant, which is important in a city. We have a bike path here made of recycled glass and anyone who gets tired of the flats it causes switches to these tires. They have a high duro center stripe and a plastic strip inside that has prevented punctures since I've gotten them. They're also lighter than you'd expect.

The rest of the wheel won't make a huge difference. Those sound like pretty decent wheels to me. I mean, I think Alex DA 28 rims are really cool, but I don't think you'll experience any performance difference with them.

Not likely. MTB standard 26" has a bead seat diameter of 559 mm, while 650C has 571 mm. (all according to https://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html)

It'd be a mighty loose fit if you got it to stay.

+1. This is a dangerous suggestion.
