Shimano RD Low Limit Screw?

Quick question: is there any issue having the low limit screw in all the way?

Background: I got a new set of wheels and when I would shift into the largest rear cog the RD would rub the spokes. To solve this I screwed in the limit screw (all the way).

Thanks for your help.

Usually, you won't be able to shift to the larger cogs.
Sounds like somethings bent or misadjusted?

It won't hurt anything but it shouldn't be necessary. As Bill K noted, something is bent or misadjusted or, the rear wheel is not dished properly.

Did you change the drop out spacing of the rear wheel?
The only thing that seems to make sense to me is if you went to a wheel with noticeably fewer cogs.
What did you go from/to?

I went from Mavic ES and Elites to a custom build powertap niobium 27 wheel. It seems to shift fine with the limit screw all the way in, but it seems odd too.
