    Noise with new bike assembly

    Hi everyone.

I am hoping that someone can give me some insight that I can use to troubleshoot my bike. I just had my bike built through a local bike shop. I have a new 2008 Bianchi 928SL frame (replacing a 2006 Carbon 928 that cracked) and I have new 2008 Campy Record components installed on it. It was just built up and I've only ridden it three times. There is an intermittent clicking noise coming from the bottom bracket/crank area. I stopped into the bike shop that built it on the first ride and they said everything was tight. It is very annoying and concerning. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks for any help.

    Regards,
    Jim

take it back to the lbs; have them ride/hear it; then leave it there and tell them to call you when it's fixed...........

Probably is not the BB. Carboe does weird stuff time to time with the noises. Sometimes u hear is comming from somewhere but is something else. Did you change the wheels or are the same old ones? Either way take appart the Ultra torque is quite easy. U need two tooks to take that thing appart.

The 1st thing i would check are the QUick releases, put some oil in the mechanism or get new ones.
2nd thing to check is how tight the chainrings are. Check for the tension in both QRs, probably are not tight enough.

    GOod luck

    Thanks for the comments

I will check the items you mentioned. The wheels are the same (Campy Zondas). The local bike shop was good in building it for me but I am concerned about their expertise in troubleshooting it - espcially during their busy season.

At least in this area they have no clue about campagnolo. Many people that rides around here asked me what campy is. Is just nuts!
