change chain now?
i'm waiting on some parts to come in but they won't be here for 10 days or so (have to wait on a tool).
should i go ahead and change my chain anyway? (i'm getting a new crankset). the chain has 1% stretch on it (i can force the 1% side of the park chain checker into the chain). will this wear my rear cogs that badly?

I personally wouldn't worry about it. The one plus to changing your chain now is that you'll be able to see how much your rear cassette is worn and if so, you'll have some extra time to get one before your crank tool shows up.

With 1% wear on the chain the cassette need replaces also. Only replace the chain and you will have the drive train jumping.

That's because your worn chain has similarly worn your cogs on your cassette.
The new chain will NOT match the wear pattern OF your worn cassette

Unless your cassette wear is spread more or less uniformly over a reasonable number of your cogs. If you ride most of the time in one particular gear you will be SOL on that one.
You need to catch the chain wear well before the 1% mark. Once it gets to 1% you might as well let both the chain and cassette go bad together. Then buy both. This will also accelerate wear on your chainrings, but they wear out much slower unless you let things get really bad.
