Tubing and tires for Bridgestone bike.

Hello there, I recently purchased a Bridgestone Diamond Formula-12 bike recently, being in very good condition except for the front tubing which has a small leak. I am wondering what type of tubing and tires I should buy for future needs. The tires are 27 X 1 1/8.

Everything else on the bike is working in great conditions so the tubing and the tires are all I'm worried atm.

Another thing is to prevent punctures, should I go with slime and normal/kelvar liners for this type.

Any 27" tire will work. The bike came with either 27 x 1-1/8" or 27x1-1/4" tires and any bike dealer should have both sizes. The 1-1/8" tires are a bit lighter and can take higher pressure the 1-1/4" tires are slighly more comfortable but either size will work fine on your bike. You may even find the relatively rare 27x 1" tires that are lighter yet and will also work on your wheels.

Any 700c/27" tube will work. Tubes fit both size wheels/tires. If you have 1-1/8" or 1-1/4" tires get a tube that specifies 700x 25 to 32 or thereabouts. Tubes are pretty forgiving about what size tires they go into.

What kind of valves do your current tubes have, Schrader (looks like an automobile tire valve) or Presta (thin, all metal with a small nut at the end)? You should get a tube that has the same valve type or get adapters that allow Presta valves to be used a rim drilled for Schrader valves. Your bike dealer can help with this.

Excellent, thanks for the advice! I have not ridden a bike of fine quality as this one so I wasn't sure what products to use on it.

Edit:sorry, didn't mean to ignore the last part. Schrader tubes. I never seen a Presta valve before, shouldn't be that hard to google up.
