light XC rear wheel help

i know the words 'light' and 'cheap' don't realy go together, but, i'm after a light rear wheel for one of my XC bikes and i don't wont to pay the earth for it.

any help would be wellcome

It's usually cheaper to build a light wheel yourself. Any chance you would want to make a go of that? It's not as difficult as people usually make it out to be.
