Freehub trouble - tightness, noise
Bontrager hub with 8/9spd freehub body
The freehub has a certain spot when spun that it gets tight and makes noise. Spinning the wheel while on the frame sounds like the wheel is hitting something (like a brake pad rubbing) but its definitely internal to the freehub.
Any ideas?

Service the bearings.
You can inspect closer while you are doing that.

I had the same problem with my 600 freehub. I serviced the freehub and that fixed it. Then I promtly went out, got a stick caught in the rear wheel, and broke a spoke.
