How Much Clearance Do I Need for Fenders?

I am wanting to pick up some fenders for my commuter but I am unsure if a rear fender will fit with my 3 dollar Cannondale rack. What do y'all think?

It will, if the regular fenders won't clear try finding "Asama" low profile fenders. You look like you have more than enough space.

Looks like plenty of room. As long as they don't rub, they work. -FTU

I don't know that I'd be that cavalier, especially in the front. Get a pebble jammed between tire and fender, and the result wouldn't be fun.

I've seen different clearances recommended, but I'd say 5mm would be preferable.
