Cannondale serial numbers- older bike
I'm a newbie to road bikes and recently was given an old Cannondale road bike with the serial numbers 65409890003 stampted on the bottom of the rear stay. At the end of the stay is stamped NG and the letters PS are circled. The decals only say Cannondale Handmade in America. The bike is brushed aluminum and unpainted. Someone mentioned it may be a triathlon bike. Can anyone tell the model or size of this bike or anything about before I start putting money and effort into it...
Thank you...Imalpo

Bikes: Iron Monkey: a junkyard steel 26" slick-tired city bike. Grey Fox: A Trek 7x00 frame, painted, with everything built, from spokes up. Jet Jaguar: A 92 Cannondale R900 frame, powder coated matte black with red and aluminum highlights.

So, lesseee. I'm drunk so this will be surprising if I get it right.
6=126mm rear dropout spacing
54=54cm frame (not sure which tube it is. I'm prety sure it's the seat tube.)
0989=built Sept. '89
0003=third bike made that month.
Is there a way to find out the model from that?

So that looks to me like it's their Criterium model! It doesn't say any of the bikes come in brushed aluminum, but I've seen colors that weren't listed in their catalogues, so I don't know if that means anything. It could have been refinished.
It's obviously a piece of crap. Here, let me take it off your hands.
