1996 Judy SL Bushing Replacement
Sorry for double posting this, I posted in the Mountain forum but I thought there might be people here that might input on this as well.
I've got a 1996 Judy SL which for various reasons I want to stick with, but I think the bushings are getting a little worn. I've got the service manual and the replacement procedure seems pretty straightforward but I'm having trouble finding parts. Lots of places have what are listed as Judy bushings but most of them (but not all) seem to specify they are for 2000 and later forks. I know all these shocks have the same stanchion diameter (28mm) but I'm concerned that either the OD or the length of the bushings might be different. Has anyone tried this? If the newer bushings are larger than the old ones I've got the resources to trim them down accurately (basic lathe work) but I'd like to know what I'm getting in to before I pull the old bushings out. Any ideas?
