rim tape for aerohead offset rims

I've been flatting a lot lateley so i figured i'd change over to Velox rim tape. unfotunately the narrow tape won't work on the offset rims and i'm not sure the wider stuff will either. Plus the valve hole is centered while all the spoke holes are way off center. The tape keeps migrating off the holes. I had Michelin plastic on them and it seemed ok, but i kept getting flats and i've never had that problem before. Also if you're using these rims, i'd recommend taking a file to the inside spoke holes. there's a lot of machining flash.. probably my problem as it may have gone thru the tape. Has anyone encountered this? any solutions recommended?

So what's wrong with Velox 17mm rim tape? That's what I use. It just snaps between the two rim flanges abd covers everything.

Try Velo Plugs. I built a set of wheels using them for Aerohead front and Aerohead OC rear.

17mm works fine for every road rim I've ever used... Open 4 CD, Reflex, Aerohead, Aerohead OC, MA40, Kinlin Niobium, etc.

Ok, so i took it in, bought the 17mm rim strips and everything's ok. i think the spoke holes are bigger than 11mm! what does that work on?

I used duct tape once and it worked great. I didn't have any rim tape and nothing was stopping me from riding that day. Never had to replace it.

I really haven't found a rim that 11mm works better than 17mm on. I can see where 11mm might cover the holes in the middle of some rims, but as long as the 17mm doesn't obstruct the tire from mounting, I'd rather use that.

It's designed for single wall mountain rims that have a relatively narrow channel down the middle but I'm not sure that 11mm works very well on anything.
