Good deed goes wrong - right crank side stripped
I picked up a junk bike (for too much $) - a Schwinn High Sierra. It's for my son's friend so they can ride together. I basically have to replace everything but the frame/headset/fork/BB.
While removing the junk crankset, the drive side stripped. Are there any tricks to removing it now that the crank puller doesn't work? I've started with a cut wheel but I don't want to damage the BB and it's a lot of cutting.

Thanks - I'll have to keep a note of that - it's happened before
Results. I removed the chainrings but cutting wasn't going well. I placed the frame on the driveway and smacked the crank and chainring arms with a rubber mallet. Turning the frame around I braced it and smacked from the other side. The crank flew off. The cut may have been deep enough to loosen the grip but I figured it wasn't on too tight anyway.
Thanks for the advice.
