Am I able to replace crankset?

Hi my bike has mainly 9 speed Shimano Sora sets. My FSA vero crankset is bent except for the arms. I'm thinking about slowly moving my bike from a 9 speed to a full 10 speed by replacing part by part. So I was wondering if say,,, a shimano 105 crankset will work for a bike with 9 speed Shimano sora.

For another consideration: I have a shimano hg 73 9 speed chain.

Oops Sry I meant to have this thread in the Bike Mechanics forum.

Cranksets don't really care what number of cogs you have on your rear cassette. No need to upgrade the crank to 10 speed. Any crank will do, as long as it's a road crank. All you really need to change is cassette and brifters; possibly chain.

You will be literally burning money by doing this upgrade. Especially if you aren't buying parts at or near cost. And in the end you get 1, one extra gear.

Can you use a "9 speed" crank with a 10 speed cassette? I have always suspected it would work in real life.
