cinelli stem clamp diameter.....

What would happen if I combined a 26.0 bar with a cinelli stem that is 26.4?
BAD things or nothing...

Bad things, such as the bar slipping or the stem breaking. Be safe and use a bar & stem that match

Bad things.
Buy a vintage Cinelli bar, or a non-Cinelli vintage Italian stem. You can likely sell the one you've got for about the same amount you'll pay for a good one. As long as you haven't wrecked it.

yep, doesn't work.

i tried it years ago when 26mm bars started becoming more ubiquitous.

0.4mm doesn't sound like much, but it is

You can get a 0.2mm shim that'll allow you to use that combination. Make sure the shim has a rough knurled finish to grip well on both sides.

What do you have for tradeing stock? I have an unused Cinelli Eubios handlebar, I think that it's a 44.

Cinelli also made 26.0 stems for users of non-Cinelli handlebars. These are often available on Ebay,.
