Frame pump piston lube?

My old Zefal frame pump is in need of internal cleaning and re-lubing. What kind of lube do you suggest? it has a rubber piston, I guess made of neoprene? (not sure).

Thanks...knotty

I'd try silicone grease. It's a good seal and won't attack any form of rubber or plastic (including the inside of the tube). You should be able to get a small container at any hardware store with a decent plumbing department as it is used to lube O-rings.

Thank you very much, silicone grease is a great idea. I'll get it tomorrow. A long time ago, I used a thick grease and the pump felt very sluggish and hard to push.
