Park tools Dual Value Floor Pump Presta Portion Not Working

Hey,
I got this Parktools dual value (Presta/Schaeder) floor pump that only will blow air though the Schaeder part of pump and won't blow anything through the Presta portion. I'm looking to see if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this. It seems like a fairly simple contraption and that there would be only a few failure points.
Thanks
Cris

I'm not familiar with this particular pump. Is there a valve in the chuck head that needs to be flipped over. Some pumps have those. See if you can find a reversible valve by unscrewing the outer rings on the chuck head.

Do you ever use the Schrader side?

If not, buy a brass Silca pump head. Cut the hose and attach the new pump head with a tiny hose clamp.

Are you sure you're flipping the right way? Those dual-heads sometimes flip in two directions, one for Schraeder and the other for Presta.

you talking about that pump? ... they both should work ... did you make sure to unscrew the presta peice and push it in to make sure it isn't stuck ? ...

i have the same pump and haven't had an issue using either side of it.

There's a ball inside the head that is supposed to roll to the side that is open and plug it. The ball gets sticky sometimes and doesn't work. Rapping it on a table will sometimes get the ball unstuck.

Look at the Park Tools instruction given by -Devil- and follow them. Make sure the valve is level (either at the 12 or 6 o'clock position) while filling, too. It helps. This can be a tough little cuss to get working the first few times but it seems to settle down after a while and works real well. If it continues to have problems, contact Park. They are very good about backing up the pump.

thanks!

The problem was what cyccommute pointed to, which the ball inside was stuck. So I hit the head on the table for several minutes until I could blow through each hole, whaala!
Thanks
Cris
