What did I do wrong?
I have an older GF Wahoo that needed it's chain and cassette replaced. I changed the cassette from a 32T to a 30T. I may have shortened up the chain one or two links. Now when I'm in the small chainring and in a middle sprocket in the rear, the chain tries to double on itself at the chainring and it gets stuck. The chain also rubs the inner plate of the front der when it's in the small chainring/large sprocket combo.

Check the chain length and adjust the derailleurs.

Yeah, that "doubling up" part sounds like a stiff link where you removed the extra link. Whenever pushing the chain-pin back in, be sure to push it back out from the opposite side slightly so the outer-plates aren't too tight. Or you can grab the chain and flex it sideways at that link to spread the plates a tiny bit.

It was the chainring all along. After considerable agony I had to get it replaced. It's a source of pride I suppose that I had to get the whole drivetrain replaced, but I done wore them out. And I cleaned the chain, really.
