Triple front derailleur problem
I am having trouble getting my triple front derailleur to shift to the large ring. I have the necessary capacity and have the correct mounting place. Could loosening the cable help it shift to the large ring? I have the limit screw to the max. Or could it be something else? I am wondering if there is some kind of extender for it. My low ring has planety of clearance is the lowest gear. Thanks

I've been havening the same problem, I believe you may have to set the "indexing"? his involves tunning your barrel adjustment out to tighten the cable and lengthen the throw of the FD all the way out to the lg ring. You can read my thread on FD indexing for some other advice.

You need the cable tighter. If you've maxed out your barrel adjuster, turn it all the way back in and re-clamp the cable. Then use the adjuster to tighten. Tuning triple FDs is not a lot of fun.

Try the Park tool website. It has a good set of step-by-step instructions for adjusting front derailleurs.
Now here's the secret. Start at the very beginning with the shift cable disconnected and check the position of the derailleur on the seat tube. Do each step in sequence. That's important because each adjustment affects all of the subsequent adjustments.
