question about installation of a chris king headset

So I just had a King headset installed because my old Cane Creek
was a bit pitted. The mechanic said that he didn't put very much
grease in the races because King headsets don't take much grease-
is this true? I trusted him when he was installing the headset but this
sounds kinda weird. The King website clearly says to grease up
the headset when servicing nothread sets. Any good advice is
greatly appreciated--I want to take care of this puppy.

You only need a small amount of grease on the steerer where the bearings sit. If the steerer is carbon, no grease. Sounds like you are good to go.

"Strange" grease won't hurt anything. King bearing cartridges are prelubed but you can pry off the seals and relube them every couple of years if you want to.
