pedalling but not moving
The gears are switching and I can pedal but the bike isn't moving. I took off the wheel and the bolts and axle but it seems to be a problem with the gears that are attached to the wheel itself. The gear part of the rear wheel will spin freely but in either direction.
This means their is no traction witht the wheel when I pedal. I've gone about as far as I can go and can't see any means of dismantling the wheel further. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Sean

Bad freewheel or freehub body.
Your training wheels could be too low as well.

Fair enough! It's an apollo cx10.s
The gear cog on the wheel says 'slick shift system by dnp' and there's an inner nut type thing which says 'index freehweel'.
Any ideas?

If the bikes three months old I'd bet on warranty. Take it back to the shop you bought it from and let them deal with it.

pedal forward?
seriously, tho. sounds like a freewheel/cassette/hub issue.
oops. didn't read the OP closely enough.
could be a warranty thing...check with your LBS...
