Fulcrum wheels

Does anyone know if the Fulcrum rims are welded or pinned? The website doesn't say.

According to their website all wheels are welded rim joints except the 5ev and 7 Clinchers line and naturally the carbons

Cr*p! I need a good set of wheels to upgrade with. I like the Fulcrum's and there's a used set of 5's locally for a great price. But I am too heavy for pinned rims even though I generally take real good care of my stuff.

Oh well, back to staring at the Shimano DA 7800 SL's and wishing I could afford them.

Well, since you ask; I've had 2 pinned rear rims fail at the joint. Both of them were 28 spoke count and the rim bent right at the joint. To be fair, both rims were in the process of being "abused" when they bent (F'ing idiot drivers!) and it was probably just fate that caused the rim to be under stress right at the joint at the time the max amt of "abuse" was being applied. My current rear (pinned) rim is also currently "tweaked" right at the joint although it is still ridable. (just not able to be brought to true)

The recommendation for +200 lb riders is for welded rims to help prevent this from happening. I had thought that the Fulcrum wheels with taller/stiffer rims & better quality spokes would be OK if the rims were welded even though they only have 24 spokes in the rear.
