Need Advice on Component Upgrades

Came across a 1985 low end Pinarello (same color and model as this bike... https://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/pinarello85/3.jpg, https://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalog...rello85/3a.jpg) all original components (Triomphe group) except for Shimano 600 RD (undoubtedly replaced a faulty Triomphe RD). It is a 6 speed with a Regina Oro freewheel. The bike is a very nice ride but the componentry is pretty shot and I think I would want to change/upgrade the components (I really am not too partial to Triomphe). I have a complete set of 7-speed NOS late era Victory components (RD, FD, crankset, shifters, brake levers, calipers) and I am wondering how complicated it would be to find a 7-speed freewheel and make all those Victory components work properly. I was speaking with a couple of knowledgeable mechanic types and they indicated that there were all sorts of specifications such as cog width, cog spacing, etc. that would have to be matched and they said that componentry back then was quite a bit more complicated than now. They even mentioned accessing some Campy archived technical information to see what would work with what. Looking for some confirmation of all this, some words of wisdom from anyone who has done this kind of thing, and any advice you would care to share. Thanks for any information!

no piny is low end.... the components... well.... do you want this geared? I made both my vuelta and Montello single speed with american classic and campi... ridden kestral, trek, nothing like my pinys they don't make the lugged stuff anymore..... you can go to a swap meet and get anything you want... dont rely on the mechanic at the lbs unless he knows vintage!
