Rusted and cracked seat tube...
I just picked up an old Bridgestone Kabuki and the seat tube is rusted a bit and at one point has bubbled out and cracked. The crack is about half an inch long and maybe 1/16 of an inch wide. Can I seal this somehow or clean it up enough to make this bike rideable? I realize it will deteriorate further over time but can I slow the process do anything to keep this bike from the trash? I don't plan on riding this as my primary bike but was going to use it to build a fixed gear over the winter.

The seat tube has split open! That doesn't need sealing - it needs replacing. Riding that is inviting a catastrophic failure of the frame at the next pothole. I'd retire the poor thing. I just wonder what happened to cause that. Maybe it was the bike in a circus that the elephant used to ride?
