Books
So I searched the forum and found many things about which books are good and not good. I used Todd Downs book to build a fixed gear bike(as well as Park Tools and Sheldon's site), it was from the library and I had to return it. Now I want to buy a bike book, should I just get Todd Down's or is there really a better one out there? I feel like they are all very similar, each lacking as well as each excelling in different aspects, and people say their favorite due to natural bias.

A lot of people use those same 3 resources. The Downs book is excellent, but there may be a better

I like Park Tool's Big Blue Book but there may be better ones for you out there. What do you want to get from these books? Bike building info, maintenance info, what? If it's maintenance I point you back to Park Tool's book. I believe they've recently released a revision and when you combine the book with the online help that they offer there isn't much that you can't learn about maintenance and repairs.
