no housing stop for rear derailer on chainstay

hey, i just picked up an old azuki that has an ffs crank system and a positron rear derailer. i'm changing it all out for a regular friction shifting system, but there is no housing stop on the chainstay for the rear derailer. are there any clamp on peices i can use, or does anyone have any creative suggestions of how to get a normal derailer to work on this bike?

Loose screws offers several downtube mounted clip-on or band-on cable housing stops but these are intended for a 1-1/8" diameter tube. Perhaps you could modify one to fit the smaller diameter of your chainstay.

Clamp on chainstay stops are available, but you may have to resort to eBay. My Gitane has one.

Bikes: I never learned to ride a bike. It is my deepest shame.

You will have to practice your mental telepathy and shift with your mind.

Or run housing all the way to the shifter. That will work just fine for your application.
