Bottom Bracket Help

I have an Aerelli mountain bike, and I recently snapped the axle. The model number is a Shimano BB-UN72-E. I believe the cups are Itallian threaded 36x24's but I am not 100% sure. Does anyone know where I can order annother one of these? Thanks

Look around, Google the proper crank for that bike, and remember ebay, and the search button are your friend.

You snapped an axle? You mean the spindle itself? You are a gorrilla, sir.

Sorry, I cannot directly help with the problem. If it is Italian threaded, it will take more leg-work to find a new BB, but not so hard. Don't give up on it.

By the way, can you just replace the spindle and not the cups themselves? That will open up many other options for replacement.

You would think itd just be the spindle, But if he snapped the spindle, and it smacked the cup, it couldve cracked the cup, I dought it, but its a possablyity.

Not familiar with that bike but the BB you described is a sealed unit, negating the possibilinot ty of just a new spindle(axle, as you called it). There are other numbers on the label of the old BB shell that tell you the size/thread you need for the replacement. There should a number like 73x118, 73 the BB shell width and 118 is the spindle length. If the first number is 68 or 73 the shell is English thread- 70 is Italian. If the shell label is covered in rust these details should be visible. If in doubt, measure the shell and spindle w/ a caliper.
