Indecision: SRAM or Nexus ?

I've got a Raleigh 20 that I want to modify. My question is, which Internal geared Hub should I go with. A SRAM or a Nexus ?

I like the Nexus. great to use, great solution with the gearcable. Easy to adjust and covered- not exposed like on some

What's your budget? How many gears do you want/need? Do you mind cold setting the OLD of the rear triangle? What kind of shifter do you want? What number of spoke holes are in the rim you want to use?

HTH,

The Nexus will usually shift easier and be more durable.
The SRAM will be more efficient.

I've got a Nexus 7 which I like a lot. However if I were buying another, I'd get the SRAM rather than a Nexus 8.

The 7/8 speeds require wider droppout spacing than the Nexus 3 or SRAM Torpedo 3 which fit that frame without modification.

No doubt...Sram. The I-Motion 9 has a wider gear range, even gear steps, is more efficient, and is quicker for changing flats due to the cable quick release.

Now if the updated Sturmey 8 is as improved as is claimed, it could become the default internal hub for small wheel bikes.
