Acetone on CArbon Tubulars
Perhaps an answer will present itself.
I have a customer with Edge composite rims. Is it safe to use acetone to clean the old glue off the hoop without delaming the rim? Edge isn't exactly forthcoming with tech request.

yes it will be fine. just becareful around the stickers as the acetone will cut the adhesive and your stickers will fall off

even if it does not harm them it will not do a good job as it will evaporate too fast. paint thinner will do a better job or lacquer thinner.

MEK (Methly Ethyl Ketone) is a thinner that will do wonders removing goo from wheels, and anything else for that matter. Just be sure to use it in a well ventilated area and use gloves. Use with a nice clean rag and rub the glue residue gently till it begins to dissolve and come up. Repeat with a clean rag and you're done. It dries without leaving any type of residue on the surface.

Edge still has not replied, how's that for tech support. I've sent out three more emails and nothing.
Be that as it may-
The wheels are super light and tough and I am impressed with the results of the build, and with the cleaning of the old glue, the MEK Thinner works like a champ.
If you folks run tubulars, I've had an awesome experience with Vlad at Tufo North America in Vancouver. Fast, on the ball, and went the extra mile with any questions.
