If areas were found that had cracked on other airplanes, we would do a NDI (non destructive inspection). This usually involved stripped the paint in the area and then applying a penetrating fluorescent dye. Cracks would show up under a black light. Then when you were done, you had to prime it, paint it and put it back together.
