brake pads for a aluminium/carbon rim
Hello, I'm looking for a little advice, as i'm just not sure...
I just acquired some new wheels (quest cosmic clinchers). They are an aluminium rim, with carbon faring. The braking surface is definately aluminium. BUT they have a little sticker on them saying this (you only need to read 1. and 5.):
WARNING
1. Only the attached Equinox's brake pads for carbon rims are recommended to brake this rim.
Please consult with your local dealer to get replacement pads, if needed
2. maximum spoke tension recommended: 130 kgf
3. failing to comply with the aforesaid "1" and "2" may automatically void the warranty on this rim
4. Maximum recommended tire inflation pressure Road 125 psi., MTB 65 psi
5. This rim braking area is covered with a layer of special fiber to resist the braking heat and abrasion.
Replace a new rim once this layer is worn out
so what pads do I use, ones for carbon or ones for aluminium? I think i should use normal pads, for alum, and that this sticker has made it on to the rim by accident. I have no idea why these would reqiure carbon rim pads, i can only think that they're made in the same factory as full carbon rims and some fool thought it would be funny to put the wrong sticker on this rim.
here's a pic of the wheels:
Any ideas anyone has would be greatfullty received.

Email the company and ask- I'd say you're probably fine with normal pads, but i'd hate to be wrong.
