Chain tools question

What's the difference between the BMX version and non? Is it BMX chains (and SS chains in general) are bigger than the usual multispeed chains and thus the chain breaker tool is set not to push out the pin?

The bmx version will accept fat chains(1/8). The shimano version at the shop will not stop in time to not push the pin all the way out. Not sure about other versions.

yeah, the single speed chains are 1/8th and the multispeed chains are 3/32 (i think). fat chain will work on skinny cogs/chainrings (older and not at optimal performance) but skinny chain no work on fat chainrings or cogs. obviously fat is 1/8th type and skinny is the 3/32nd type. just be carefull not to push the pin all the way out. a little at a time and i leave a minut amount of pin sticking into the link so i can seperate the chain but also use that uber tiny amount of pin sticking thru the plate to be able to hold the chain together enough as i drive the pin back in. almost not enuff better than too much.
