Links needed is determined by being able to cover a big ring-big cog combo and then having one extra link to keep the system from spontaneously imploding . Using what you gave us is an impossible way to give you a definitive answer.

Also, that chain does not have 106 links, but 106 half-links or 53 links. Each link is made up of an inner and an outer link, or what I call male and female pieces. I will always remember this because the late and great Sheldon Brown (R.I.P.) answered my question concerning a similar problem and corrected me on here.

I've heard most, if not all, chains usually come at a number of links (60?) more than enough to cover most common drivetrains. Personally, I have never installed a chain without yanking a few links off for any of my bikes.

I can't say for sure but 106 links sounds a little on the short side to me. Chains for derailleur bikes are commonly sold in 112 to 116 link lengths.
