8 Speed Chain Compatibility
Does anyone know if a Shimano HG40 6/7/8 speed chain is compatible with a Campy Ergo 8 Speed index cassette?

I'd say yes as Campy 8 speed spacing is very close to Shimano 7 speed spacing.

I always used 8 speed SRAM and Shimano chains on my Campy 8s equipped Bianchi.

all components are Campy 8 speed Chorus (Ergo style)

OK, now I am confused. Should the Shimano 6/7/8 speed chain wor with an 8 speed Campy drivetrain?

to the shimano HG 7 speed spacing, not the IG (IG being obsolete anyway)
