Frame swap

I am considering swapping out the frame on a Fisher Big Sur(hardtail) to a Sugar or Fuel(full suspension) frame. I was wondering how easy it is going to be to swap out all of the components. I am fairly handy when it comes to bikes, but I am not a mechanic. Will the components transfer well, or am I going to have to do/buy a bunch of small parts to make the transfer? Thanks

We have different situations, in that I had the shop do the parts swapping.. I switched from a worn out Giant 520 Reynolds frame to a new Surly.. It went ok.. Sometimes, I regret not buying a given new component in order to make the old components new..

If you are patient and have the wherewithal to get whatever bike specific tools you'd need, go for it. Ease is relative. Good way to learn about your bike. Compatibility has a lot to do with size and measurements. I don't know either of those bike intimately so I can't say.

I did a hardtail to full susp conversion a couple of years ago. The only problem I had with the components was that the hardtail had a 68mm shell, and the full susp bike had a 73mm shell. I would double check and make sure your bb will fit correctly.
